J. D. Willis, 51, passed from this life February 3, 2013 with family at his side. He was born January 4, 1962 in Hobbs, New Mexico to James Douglas Willis and Appolina Mary Kunic-Willis. He proudly served his country in the Navy for 15 years as an Aviation Structural Mechanic, Second Class. J.D. served several tours including two tours during the Gulf wars. His days with VP1 were his most memorable where he made lifetime friends. J.D. was most proud of his son Chad and growing into the man he is. His proudest moment was when his son joined the Navy as he did and his father before him. J.D. spent much of his free time on his Harley enjoying the open road and finding his peace. Recently, J.D. completed his degree, with honors, in Medical Billing and Coding from Everest University. J. D. is survived by his wife, Anita at the family home in Oak Harbor, his son Chad in California, and his mother Mary of Oak Harbor Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands. To share memories of J.
