Esther,
Wife, Mother, Wunderful Person!
God has placed her in a heavenly home now. Esther loved Angels and now she is with them.
I met Esther in 1956 in Uranium City, Canada where I was working. On November 12, 1960, we flew to Edmonton to get married. We were both immigrants so the ceremony was between us. No friends or family to be part of our wedding.
On March 4, 1974 we were naturalized as Citizens of the United States in Des Moines, Iowa. I was employed by a construction firm which specialized in building tunnels across Canada, United States and Denmark for 31 years. I was required to travel and move to locations where the tunnels were constructed. Esther never complained about the numerous moves we had to make as a family. We were happy, we were together.
Esther was a perfectionist. Everything had to be done in just the right way. She was an excellent cook and baker. I cannot find the words to describe all the good qualities about her. What was most important to her was her children. We were blessed with four children: Volker, Ray, Angela and Gregory. We also have four grandchildren: Amanda, Kyle, Roan and Eric. Every day she would pray for their wellbeing, looked at photographs of them and light a candle for them. She always looked forward to seeing and spending time with them.
I feel very fortunate to be blessed to have her for my wife for nearly 60 years. She was very beautiful, smart and perfect in many ways. She inspired me in ways I cannot explain. And now I close this tribute with a spirit of humble submission to Divine Authority. I am forever her loving husband, Gerhard.
