Olich
Jun 26, 1935 — Jan 4, 2022
Anacortes
Anne Katherine Olich, 86, of Anacortes passed away peacefully at her residence on 4 January 2022, with her family and friends holding her close.
Anne was born 26 June 1935 in Abbotsford, and raised in Burnaby, BC, Canada on the family farm by immigrant Yugoslav parents and siblings. After High School graduation, she worked in Vancouver.
Boris and Anne met as children, married on 29 December 1954 in Vancouver and moved to Anacortes. Pamela Anne was born there in 1957, and they retained the family home while living in Alaska during memorable fishing seasons.
Anne was a homemaker, cannery worker and cook on their fishing vessels for many seasons in Puget Sound and Alaska. Their kitchen and galleys were always open and welcomed friends and strangers alike. Anne was the consummate hostess, cook and social director. Boris was the continual entertainment and support. They will be remembered for their generosity of spirit.
Anne was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and supporter of many Croatian Organizations and events.
She was received in death by her loving husband, Boris; her parents, Marko and Marija Krmpotich; brother, Michael Crompton of Ontario, Canada and sister, Rose Anderson of Utah. Also, infant daughter, Marija Anna and niece Jan Leishman of Utah.
She is survived by daughter, Pamela Olich-Tweten (Brian Tweten) and grandson, Matthew Tweten. Also, nieces, Michelle Crompton and Vanessa Hoover of Ontario, Canada and great niece, Brandy Olson of Utah and their families plus countless close family and friends in Canada, Croatia and the United States. Anne was most loved and will be very missed.
A Memorial Mass and Interment will be announced at a later date. Memorials in Anne's name may be made to the Puget Sound Kidney Center or Island Hospital Foundation or to St. Mary Church. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel & Onsite Crematory Inc.
