Archie Lee Knudson, 84, native of Anacortes WA, passed at Skagit Valley Hospital on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born on April 28, 1940, the son of Ed and Amelia (Rosenau) Knudson, and brother to Ed, Nancy, and Linda.

After two years of college at age 20, Archie was drawn to making commercial fishing his lifelong career, and specialized in crabbing as well as a gill netter for Puget Sound. He married the love of his life, Patty Ann Banning, on June 15, 1963. The young couple would have two sons, Eric and Randy. Archie named his fishing vessel "Patty K," which he built himself.

Archie also enjoyed his time fishing in southeast Alaska, Ketchikan specifically, during the summer for commercial fishing. He developed many friendships there which he cherished very much. His favorite pastimes during off season were, veggie gardening, golfing, and he could be seen walking at any one of the local parks: Storvik, Tommy Thompson, or Bayview, with his grandson, Randy Jr.

Archie was a staunch Republican, and he aced in making his political opinions known. Anyone who engaged with him in politics would admit that it was a one-way conversation, with Archie doing all the talking.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Amelia, and brother, Ed. He is survived by his loving wife Patty of 61 years; his children: Eric (Heather) and Randy Sr.; grandchildren: Randy, Jr., Austin, Kylee, and Tabitha; great grandchildren: Norrie and Kaden Knudson and his sisters: Nancy, Andrich, and Linda Knudson.
