Beverly Ann
Sturgeon
Jun 4, 1954 — May 16, 2021
Anacortes
Beverly, "Bev" Ann Sturgeon a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend left this world peacefully at the Life Care Center in Mount Vernon on May 16, 2021. She was 66 years old. Bev was born to her late parents Frank & Donna Kamp in San Francisco, CA on June 4, 1954. Later Joined by her siblings LaDonna & Robert, the Kamps made their home across various towns and cities over the years, including Citrus Heights and Eufala, Oklahoma. On her father's side, Bev belonged to the Muscogee Creek Nation in Okmulgee Oklahoma.
As a young adult, Bev had many waitressing jobs while attending Bible College. It was when she moved up to Anacortes Washington to live with her mother and siblings that she worked at the Sucia Reef Café. It was here that she met her future Husband Edward (Ed) Sturgeon. The two began dating in June of 1981 and were married November of that same year.
Ed & Bev welcomed their first son Eric in May of 1983, their daughter Stephanie in September of 1986, and Jeffrey in July of 1988. It was during this time that Bev found her affinity in caring for and raising children with her in-home daycare. Bev continued to explore her passions by pursuing a business in cosmetology. After becoming a Nail Technician, she opened her salon "Angel Face & Nails." Her husband with the help of his step-father Emil Fagerberg, & friend Doug Erlandson converted the 2-car garage into a nail salon & tanning booth. She grew her business and was voted best of Anacortes for a handful of years. Bev enjoyed her work and made lifelong friends who were loyal clients until the very end.
To anyone who knew Bev, they knew of her fun adventurous spirit, contagious laugh, and bigger-than-life personality. She cared deeply about others and was able to make hearts lighter with meaningful conversations. She strived to make any occasion better and more special as was her nature. Although Bev enjoyed her time spent at home with family, friends and beloved pets, she could always be counted on to have a destination vacation planned. The family enjoyed many fun trips to Disneyland, Hawaii and Cruises to Mexico & the Caribbean. She was loved by many and will be terribly missed. We love you Bev, thank you for blessing us with your love, your laughter, and countless wonderful memories that we will hold in our hearts.
Bev was predeceased by her parents and sister, Ladonna Hayes. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ed; children (spouses): Eric (Jessica), Jeffrey and Stephanie (Maxwell Shoemake); grandchildren: Harrison & Evelyn Sturgeon and Elise Shoemake; siblings: Robert Kamp and brother-in-law, Terry Hayes; nieces and nephew: Caitlin Schwartz, Kylie Bastic, Makenzie Vessels and Frankie Kamp.
