Boris Olich, 90, of Anacortes, WA, was called home to God on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his residence. His loving family was with him in his final hours. Boris immigrated from Vela Luka, Croatia at an early age to the U.S. He joined the fishing industry and was a commercial fisherman for 75 years. He worked out of California to Alaska; pioneered some fisheries, perfected many more and mentored scores of young men in their profession.
Boris and Anne have been married almost 64 years. They lived in Anacortes almost exclusively, except for a few years in Alaska.
Boris was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, The Elks, Knights of Columbus and Purse Seine Vessel Owners Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Louie Percich and Mara Olich; his step-father: Anton Olich and sisters: Virginia Martinis, Katica Prizmic and Lucia Separovich. Boris is survived by his loving wife: Anne; daughter: Pamela (Brian Tweten); grandson: Matthew Tweten; sisters: Nancy Buble, Louise Martinson, Joan Blair, Sara Donna Sinclair; numerous nieces, nephews in Anacortes, Canada and Croatia plus countless friends the world over.
