Brad Moen
Norgard
Oct 25, 1956 — Jul 18, 2021
Stanwood
On Sunday July 18, 2021, Brad Norgard, 64, passed away with his loving family by his side after a long battle with health issues.
Brad was born on October 25, 1956, to Arthur and Barbara (Moen) in Anacortes, along with his sister, Diane, brothers, Douglas and Mark. Growing up Brad was known for his love for the outdoors. After graduating from Anacortes High School, Brad started a lifelong career as a truck driver. Not too long after, Brad met and married his other half, Mary Louise Duncan. They built a life together and enjoyed fishing, taking friends out on their boat, long days spent at the beach, and driving around in his 1961 Ford Thunderbird which he acquired from his uncle Wayne when he was in his teens. After many wonderful years together, Mary passed away in 2014. Their dog, Rhoda, was a loyal and loving companion for Brad. There is no question that she was his pride and joy.
As a lifelong Anacortes resident, Brad became a well-known member of the local Eagles club for over 40 years. Here he made many friends who he stayed close with throughout the rest of his life. He was known for his willingness to always lend a hand where it was needed, and he often put the needs of others before his own. He had a generous spirit and an ability to make others laugh that made him the kind of friend you wanted to have in your corner. Everyone that knew him loved him dearly.
His memory will live on through the hearts of his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary, and brother, Douglas. He is survived by sister, Diane [Brion Shaw]; brother Mark [Jean] Norgard; uncle Wayne [Susie] Norgard; aunt Gladys Huttula; nieces: April [Brandon Carlson] and their daughter Fathom; Rachel Marler; Megan Marler [Ross Larsen], and their children, Sophia, and Leon; and Mary [Juan Amaro], and their sons, Austin and Carter; nephew Mike Norgard [and his daughters, Sofia and Naomi]; Brion's children: Andrew, Nia, Erica (Brandon) and children Emma and Kollin, Evan (Nicole) and daughters Olivia and Lainey; more extended family including multiple cousins; close friends, Jerry and Darlene Brakeman and their family, the Fry family, and many more.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, August 28th at Evans Funeral Chapel with a reception afterwards. A private family burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery, and Brad will be placed in his final resting place next to his parents. The family would like any memorials in Brad's name to be made to one of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Charity Funds: https://www.foe.com/Charities/Donate
