Words cannot express our grief in announcing the unexpected passing of Bradley J Breckenridge. Brad was a lifelong resident of Anacortes, born and raised. He spent his life dedicated to his family, his work and his community. He will be missed beyond measure, touching the hearts of so many within his community and his family. On Wednesday, July 26, he passed away to be with his Heavenly Father, he was 69 years old.

Brad is survived by his wife of 47 years, Terri Breckenridge, his children Kyra Breckenridge (Zach), Kris Breckenridge (Kerry), Kyle Breckenridge, Kelsie Barker (Jamin) and Kourtney Snook (Andrew). His beloved grandchildren: Zain, Isabella, Austin, Levi, Claira, Wesley, Breck, Sienna, Sebastian, Landon, Miley, Ryder, Cooper, Walter and Zelda. His sisters Tami Leverett (Steve) and Tina Houser. Brad is preceded in death by his parents Shirley Boisvert and Duane Breckenridge, his brother Larkin Breckenridge and stepfather, Paul Boisvert.

The first child of Shirley and Duane, Brad was born in Anacortes, WA on July 11th, 1954, at the Anacortes Hospital. In the years to follow, he was joined by his brother Larkin and his sisters, Tami and Tina. Enjoying the good life of growing up in beautiful Anacortes, Brad enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Making lifelong friends such as Dave Giles and Greg Hill, was just the beginning of the connections he would make throughout his rich life.
Attending elementary, middle school and high school in Anacortes, Brad Breckenridge was a well-known pillar in his community. After high school, Brad went on to work a variety of jobs including Trident seafoods, Delmer Cole's fishing boat (The Radio) and ranching in Winthrop, the latter of which he shared many fond memories. In 1977, he began his 42-year career at Dakota Creek Industries. He was the crane operator, as well as the syncro lift and yard supervisor. He gladly applied these skills and connections, volunteering his time and service to countless projects within the community.
In December of 1974, at Alexander beach, Brad met the love of his life, Terri. They were married on April 3rd, 1976, and shortly thereafter welcomed their first child Kyra. In the coming years, the pitter patter of little feet multiplied with the births of Kris, Kyle, Kelsie and Kourtney. Brad was a very involved and loving father, sharing his passion of fishing, hunting and the outdoors with his children that will undoubtedly be carried with them throughout their lives. Much happiness came to Brad with the birth of his first grandchild Zain, and in the subsequent years Isabella, Sienna, Sebastian, Landon, Miley, Ryder, Austin, Levi, Claira, Wesley, Breck, Cooper, Walter and Zelda. These young spirits were the pinnacle of Brad's joy, both felt and witnessed through his exuberant bragging, love and pride. If you were talking to Brad in the past 22 years, chances are he was speaking about one of his many grandchildren.

His love of various sports shone through on his hats, his shirts and his tea mugs. He nurtured that interest in his own children, coaching and attending their many sporting events and endeavors. More recently, you could often find him supporting his grandchildren's sports, watching local softball and enjoying his favorite teams, the Seahawks, Mariners and Huskies. Sharing his home and his friendships over a game was close to his heart.

To know Brad, was to know a friend. Whether you were passing him in the grocery store, sitting next to him at a sporting event or lucky enough to be called his family, you knew what you meant to him. There are no words that could truly express the legacy of Bradley J Breckenridge, but the love that he leaves behind in all of us will surely carry us forward. We love you Brad, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, and dear friend. You were taken from us too soon.

A celebration of life will be held at Family Life Church in Anacortes, WA on August 6th at 1pm.
