Dad, Brian Paul Benthin aka BADASSBMAN, 59 of Eastsound, WA went to his eternal rest, leaving his earthly home on January 26, 2023.  He was born on March 17, 1963 in Bakersfield, California; the son of Owen and Mavis (Miller) Benthin and brother of Mark.  Dad grew up in Bakersfield, CA.

He met the love of his life, Cynthia "Cindy" Kosareff, a single mom of three boys.  Together they grew their family by adding two more children to the fold. He was a father that loved his children and their mother more than anything in the world.

Brian was a hardworking, dependable and giving person. He had a huge heart and would always find a way to help anyone in need. He was the best handyman, an impressive landscaper, a caretaker, a brother and an amazing friend and there wasn't much he couldn't or wouldn't do to make the lives of those he knew better. He touched many lives, a mentor and father figure to some.  He honestly valued character rather than outward appearances.  Brian's work ethic was greatly admired, respected and noticed by all.  His name always came to the mind of his employer and friend when projects came up. He had a passion for woodworking and fixing automobiles. Was there anything he did not like? Yes, this amazing man hated vegetables! Other than that, his life's motto was: "A Day is not meant to be wasted!"  Brian was not all work and no play.  He loved a good party and spending time with his family.

Dads are someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about, someone to learn from and someone to respect, someone to listen to and     someone to talk to, and most of all, with whom to share everything this wonderful life has to offer. We are so incredibly grateful and happy that We can state, We have had all this and much, much more with our dad Brian. To say We loved our dad would be an understatement - and to say We are going to miss him would be an even greater understatement. We cannot begin to imagine not having Dad on the end of a phone or popping around at a moment's notice to assist with any project great or small with which We happen to be needing advice or help.

Dad's love was unconditional, and this is something We will cherish from his character and take with us forever. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Not to mention his infectious laugh and smile. Brian, looking down, would certainly shed a few tears to see how many of his family and friends turned up to celebrate his wonderful life.  He would also have been very surprised, as he was a very humble man, and we are incredibly blessed to have had him as our Dad, partner, Papa and friend. We will never forget you, Dad.  Thanks for the memories.  You are our greatest treasure to have and to hold in our hearts, forever.

Your poem, The Ever After, will continue to speak to us and be a guiding influence in grieving your absence.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.  He is survived by his life partner, Cindy; their children: Breena (Dylan Sunn), Freeman (Cassidy) Benthin, William, Aaron and Tyson Royal; grandchildren: Raiden, Ezra, Uriah Sunn and Harlow Benthin.
