Bruce Richard Gyger was born in Seattle, WA on February 10, 1959 to Richard "Dick" and Lois (Nickerson) Gyger.

In his youth Bruce, with older sisters Cynthina and Carol, lived in Seattle and Los Angeles (dad's work}, until the family moved to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana in 1971. It was there Bruce finished school and there that he developed a deep love of the blues and the soulful music of the South. This appreciation of music and his deep mellifluous voice jump started his career in on-air radio. After a few work-related moves, he moved to Ft. Collins, CO. This put him in the same town as his sister Carol, her husband Bruce and their two daughters. Family was always important.

In Ft. Collins he met Kim in 1982. They moved to Seattle in 1985, a coming home for Bruce. He and Kim were married in 1989.

Next came Bruce's second career working with the Washington State Convention Center. He truly enjoyed planning and managing special events. As an individual Bruce was organized, a good listener and derived great satisfaction in helping others, all good attributes to have working in this line of work.

Bruce's colleagues were his friends. They were talented, hardworking people. They worked long hours and put up with crazy long Seattle commutes to create the special magic that made the WSCC a world class gathering facility.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bruce is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim Morrill; sister, Cynthia Gyger of Bothell; her sons, Chris Sigman (Marci Koski) of Vancouver, WA and Ben Sigman of Vancouver, WA; and his children: Ethan, Aubrey, Austin and Ella; sister, Carol Gyger (Bruce Brown); their daughters, Terra Brown (Dan Miles) of Portland, Shana Goethals (Jake) of Sevierville, TN; sister-in-law, Erin Paulsen (Steve) of Eden Prairie MN, Genna Lee Paulsen (Erik Lervold) of St. Paul, MN, Kaitie Paulsen of Eden Prairie; sons, Owen, Matthew and Finn; Shawn Morrill-Rutland (Mike) of Minneapolis, MN; Devon Morrill (Aimie) of Sioux Falls, SD; and their son, John of Sioux Falls SD.

Bruce will be well remembered for:

His unconditional love and generosity

The way his eyes crinkled when he smiled

A moustache second only to Sam Elliot's

And giving the best hugs

He lived his life well loved.

There will be a celebration of Bruce's life. Arrangements pending.
