Carleton Lewis
Manning
Sep 28, 1953 — Oct 29, 2025
Anacortes
Carleton Manning was born on September 28, 1953, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He later built a remarkable life filled with faith, family, service, and adventure. Carleton worked for NASA for many years, contributing to significant work during the Space Shuttle program era, including projects connected to the Challenger program — work he always carried with honor and pride. Later, alongside his beloved wife, Creamola Wilkins-Manning, he helped operate The Blue Rose Bed and Breakfast in Anacortes, Washington — a warm and welcoming place where guests often left as friends.
Carleton was a man who believed in the power of purpose, hard work, community, and God's grace. He was known for his intelligence, humor, and strong sense of conviction. He was also a devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church in Anacortes, WA, where he served faithfully and built meaningful connections with his church family. His faith was not only his foundation — it guided his decisions and shaped how he loved others.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Creamola Wilkins-Manning, and stepchildren: James Earl Moore, Martinous Moore, Martha Walls, Karen Walls, Jacqueline Shackleford. He is also preceded in death by his beloved stepdaughter, Donna Faye Moore. Carleton leaves behind many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who cherished him deeply.
Above all, Carleton was a Christian man whose trust in the Lord was unwavering. He has now entered his eternal rest in the presence of the Lord.
The family honors and celebrates Carleton's life, legacy, faith, and the love he gave to so many. His memory will forever remain a blessing to all who loved him.
