Carol, age 79, of Bellingham passed away on June 25, 2025. ​ Born on December 27, 1945, in Anacortes, WA to parents, Wellington and June Toland, and sister to Terry and Lynn.  She had lived in Republic, WA for the last twenty years with two years with her son Mike in Bellingham.

Carol grew up in Anacortes and a graduate of Anacortes High School.  She developed a strong sense of community. ​ Her education provided her with the skills and dedication that she carried into her professional life. She worked as a receptionist at Jim's Electronics for ten years, then as a key contributor to the family business of Pate Roofing for 25 years. ​

During her high school years, Carol met James, the love of her life. Their shared values and commitment to family formed the foundation of their enduring relationship. Together, they went into a business together, built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, raising their children and supporting one another through life's journey.

Carol is survived by her her companion, Raymond Laplant; her children, Mike and Jami; grandchildren: Conner and Victoria; and her brother Terry. ​ She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, James and broher Lynn. ​

Carol will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.  A Memorial Service for Carol will be held at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes at Noon on Friday, September 26, 2025. She will be laid to rest next to James in a private service at Grand View Cemetery.
