After a courageous battle with cancer, Anacortes lost lifetime resident Chuck Mason. He was very involved in Anacortes and the surrounding communities, as well as a member of the Lummi nation. He was a man of many jobs and trades, such as a pin-setter at the bowling alley on 4th street in Anacortes, owner of a gas station in Bellingham, a cannery worker, commercial fisherman and crabber, involved in Skagit Habitat for Humanity, a little league coach, and a sea scout skipper. He was a member of the Anacortes Jaycees, became a state officer, and later had the honor of becoming a JCI senator. Chuck was a long time union carpenter, and elected as the business agent of the carpenters union local 1532, from which he retired.

His most important accomplishments were being a husband to Andrea, one day short of 57 years. Being the best dad ever to Traci and Tami and her husband Bo and the greatest grandpa to Adam and Ashleigh, who brought him pride and so much enjoyment watching them grow into respectful and loving young adults. He is also survived by his sister Sheron Hall, brother-in-law Jack Savage, cousins Kenny and Nadine Sprouse, who over the years became special friends, as well as many nephews and nieces. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Velma, his siblings Jackie, Ronnie and Linda, who all will be waiting to welcome him with open arms.

Family and close friends will forever cherish our late night fires, and listening to memories and funny stories told by Chuck. He loved, was loved by many, and will be missed by all.
