Cindy Hubner was born in Anchorage, Alaska on June 27, 1949, the daughter of Chet and Eleanor Cox.  She passed away on November 11, 2021, at Skagit Valley Hospital of cancer.

Her family moved to Bellingham when she was one.  She grew up there and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1967.  She attended WWSC until her marriage to Jon Hubner, who was in the U.S. Navy.  Then she began a life of travel as she joined Jon in his deployment around the U.S. and Taiwan.  She had two sons, Ian and Michael, who were both born at the Naval Hospital in Taipei. During Jon's deployment in the US, she had many working positions  and one with DOD group in California called NEMESIS as a secretary.

Near the end of her husband's Navy career, they moved back to Bellingham and she took a position with Haggen Inc and  attended WWU receiving a degree in Psychology in 1995.  The family moved to Anacortes in 1996 and have resided there since.  Cindy ultimately retired as a wine specialist, after 26 years, having worked in Bellingham, Arlington and Burlington stores.  During the last couple of decades, she was well known as the redheaded wine lady by her customers.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Jon of Anacortes, her son Ian of Bellingham, her grandchildren: Griffin of California, Enzo and Oona both of Bellingham. She is also survived by her siblings: Pat of California and David of New Mexico.  Cindy was predeceased by her parents and her son Michael .

Cindy had a sharp wit and an easy way with people.  She loved ZUMBA.  More specifically Cindy was an artist at heart.  She loved to draw and was an avid beader, both of which she was good at.  Cindy will be deeply missed.

Remembrance of Cindy may be made to The Salvation Army .
