Dana Suzanne Post, 67, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026, at her home in Shoreline, Washington. She is survived by her nieces, Kimberly Post and Jacqueline Dunn, and was predeceased by her parents, Wallace “Wally” and Barbara Post, and her brother, Gregory.

A lifelong Pacific Northwesterner, Dana was born in Seattle, Washington. She grew up on the eastside, in Bellevue and Redmond, and spent weekends at her family’s cabin on Camano Island. The family spent many weekends at the cabin enjoying the peace and quiet, spending time setting crab pots near Camano Island and fishing by Polnell Point.

Dana graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1977 and, following in her mother’s footsteps, went on to attend Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. She and Barbara were active members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) for many years thereafter.

Dana was a loving daughter who maintained a close relationship with her parents, Wally and Barbara, throughout her life. She often divided her time between her home in Shoreline and Anacortes, where her parents retired. To her nieces, Jackie and Kim, Dana is remembered as a thoughtful aunt who never forgot to send a card for birthdays and holidays, even when geography separated them.

Dana was a champion of children with learning disabilities and sought opportunities to support efforts to improve their well-being. Memorial donations may be made in Dana’s name to the Learning Disabilities Association of America at ldaamerica.org.
