Daniel E. Doudna, 90, of Anacortes Washington died November 11, 2021. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 27, 1930 to Carl C. and Vida Doudna.

Daniel graduated from the University of Michigan in 1956 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He spent his career working as an engineer in the aerospace industry. Daniel began his career working for Sundstrand Corp. in Illinois. He moved to Arizona in 1962 working for Garrett AiResearch in Phoenix. He ended his career transferring with Garrett to Maidenhead, England where he worked until retirement in 1990.

Daniel lived a full life of 90 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. Travel was also one of Daniel's passions. He spent 2 years in the Army stationed in Salzburg, Austria as a young man. His career in England provided many opportunities for professional and personal world travel. He began his retirement spending 3 months camping in New Zealand with his wife, Florence.

Dan moved to Washington in 1991 following his long time love of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He moved to Anacortes in 2008.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Florence (Shutty); their children, Caryn of Tempe, AZ, Jon of Aurora, CO and Joan of Tempe, AZ; grandchildren Lauren and Michael; nieces, a nephew and a cousin, all of whom he loved dearly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Carl R. Doudna.
