Daniel Isaiah Kenote, 28, of Bellingham, WA, went to be with Jesus on July 9, 2023, with his parents and siblings by his side.  Known as the "gentle giant" in the community or "Uncle Dan," to his seven nieces and nephews, he was deeply loved by those who knew him.  Daniel graduated from Anacortes High School in 2013 and attended Skagit Valley College for one year to pursue his interest in engineering.

In his early twenties, Daniel was diagnosed with a serious mental illness and he worked hard to stabilize his life and set new goals.  He was hired at Luna Bistro and his hard work and commitment paid off as he was promoted to cook.  He found a love for creating delicious food and sharing it with those closest to him.  Recreating the food he made at work for his family brought him endless joy and he always served it with an artistic flair.  Daniel loved fishing, Xbox, art, Legos, and air-soft guns, as well as sitting at the campsite and just talking about life.

Above all, his greatest love was for Jesus and he looked forward to spending eternity with Him.  Even in his hardest seasons of life, he was ministering to those around him and sharing his love for his Savior.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Jim and Terie, his four siblings, Sarah (& Riley), Hannah (& Ben), Dave (& Emily), Debbi (& Sage) as well as seven nieces and nephews, Isaiah, Ingrid, Luke, Tristan, Grady, Clayton, & Haddie along with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.  He will be greatly missed.  Although he is gone, he will never be forgotten.

The family celebrated his life with a small intimate gathering, just as Dan would have liked. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Lake Whatcom Center, The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), or a charity of your choice.
