David Neil Gruye, 71, a resident of Anacortes, passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital on September 25, 2021.

He was born in Seattle on August 23, 1950, the son of Curtiss and Kathryn (McDonald) Gruye. David served his country honorably in the US Navy.  While he was there, he developed a passion for the ocean and diving that he pursued the latter skillfully and was a graduate of the Divers Institute of Technology.  David was very much a people person, that he touched many lives as they touched his.  He was a Cub Scout Leader, Scoutmaster for Pack 84 and Troop 4084.  David's caring, engaging and adventurous spirit will be truly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents. David is survived by his loving wife, Christie; children: David Neil Gruye II, and Lindsay Jean Gruye; and sisters: Christian and Lezley and extended family members.
