Dr. David D. Herrington, passed away on October 13, 2022 at his home in Anacortes, Washington.

David will be remembered for his compassionate and skilled care of emergency room patients for more than 50 years.  He would have liked to be remembered for the lives he saved or made better.  He will also be remembered for his restoration of the historic James Moore Mansion on Capitol Hill in Seattle.

David served in the Emergency Room at the Auburn General Hospital from 1969 to 2002.  From  2002 to 2020, he served part time in numerous emergency and urgent care facilities in Western Washington and on the Blackfoot and Navajo Indian Reservations.

David was born in Saint Maries, Idaho in 1939.  He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane.  He then joined the Navy, serving on the Destroyer, the USS Forest Royal.  After his military service, David graduated from Washington State University and from the University of Washington Medical School.

David's crowning achievement, however, was the wonderful relationship he established with his spouse, Keith Mumme, who survives him.  David thanks Keith for his companionship and the wonderful care he gave David. David is also survived by his sister, Nancy Jones of Spokane, Washington and brother, William L. Herrington (wife, Patricia)  of Sandpoint, Idaho.

A gathering of friends and family will be held in Seattle in the near future.
