Delmer LaVern Knutson (60)  of Anacortes, passed away April 1st, 2021. Born to Gerald and Darlene (Johnson) Knutson on October 21st, 1960 in Shelton, Washington.

Del received his bachelors from Western Washington University and careered in the commercial fishing and shipbuilding industry. He met and married Sally Berentson in 1990 in Anacortes, Washington. Together they had two children, Hank and Emma Knutson.

Del had an ambitious spirit. He was an excellent athlete in his younger years. He played football in the fall with his father as his coach, and baseball in the spring. He traveled Europe, meeting people as he traveled through countries, making memories and capturing pictures as he went. Del commercially fished in Alaska during the summers in college. Living in Seattle, Bellingham and finally making his way back to Anacortes before starting a family.

In his pastime, he loved collecting vintage records, watching football and basketball, cheering on his favorite teams. He loved birdwatching, tending to his tiny gardens and visiting with close family, friends and friendly neighbors. He had a community of people that loved visiting and talking topics of debate. Del will be missed and remembered by many.

Del was predeceased by his father in 2008 and his mother in 2019. He is survived by his former wife, Sally Zawistowski and children, Hank and Emma; his siblings: Deborah Knutson, Douglas (Suzanne) Knutson, Diane (Gene Gilden), Daniel (Cathy) Knutson, Denise (Ted Ostlund) and numerous, cousins, nephews and nieces.

A private Celebration of his life will be held at a later date with close family and friends.
