Donald Eugene Heath, Jr.

Don passed away at home surrounded by family following a courageous fight from the effects of a paralyzing stroke he suffered two years ago. He was 78 years old. Don was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Donald Eugene Heath Sr. and Natalie (Simmons) Heath Probis. Don was raised by his mother and stepfather Charlie Probis, who he called dad. He grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school. Don was a resident of Anacortes from 1983 to – 2011, his second home after Wickenburg, AZ where he passed away on June 30, 2026.

Following graduation, Don joined the Army and married Rochelle (Garnsey) in 1966 and moved to California. They had one daughter, Rhonda. Upon the accidental death of his wife, Rochelle, Don was given a Hardship Discharge from the Army. Don stayed in California to raise his daughter. He met and married Charlene Huddleston in 1971, the marriage ended in divorce. They had three children, Angela, Donald Eugene III, and Jack. While in California Don began working as a pipe fitter for oil refinery shutdowns. As a pipe fitter Don worked all over the United States and Canada. He was a pipe fitter for most of his working career. In between pipe fitting he owned his own construction company, was a maintenance man for several Seattle area apartments, and did various other construction jobs.

It was while he was working at an Anacortes, Washington refinery that he met Claudia (Smith) in 1985. They were married in March 1986. He also became Papa Don to Kathy, Debi, David, and Dan. Don and Claudia were married until her death in 2011. A few years later Don connected with an old work buddy and once again, found love with Joanie Bohag. Together they moved to Arizona and married on April 19, 2014.

At any time, you could find Don enjoying cookies. He was famous for his weakness for cookies. Besides eating all kinds of cookies, he enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks. He really enjoyed taking his grandkids to the movies at Christmas time, horseback riding, to the Ice Capades, and traveling. He also liked going to local casinos, cooking, watching TV and being surrounded by his large extended family.

Don will be missed but not forgotten; he leaves a long legacy of loved ones and memories. Don was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, (Charlie), Donald Sr.; granddaughter, Rochelle Crumm; Sister, Vivian Melton (Sissy); Rochelle Heath (wife); Charlene Heath (ex-wife); Claudia Heath (wife); and various cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Don is survived by his wife, Joanie, of AZ; his children: Rhonda Elder, Angela (Mike Clevenger), Donald Eugene (Ramona) Heath III, Jack (Dez) Heath; his stepchildren: Kathy (Lee) Resler, Debi Resler, David (Shelly) Smith, Dan (Cheryl) Weiland; his grandchildren, Amber Crumm, (Theresa), Racheal Myers (Mandy), Amanda Clevenger, Brittney (Erik Clutter), Haley, Charlene and Dawnielle Heath, Leandra (Morgan Febus), Taylor, Christian, and Alex Heath; his step-grandchildren: Jessica (Jason Davis), Elyse (Mike Crepps), Ryan (Jennifer) Resler, Megan (Kaisa) Resler, Caine Resler, Victor (Kirsten) Smith, Kyle (Brittney) Smith, Tarryn (Josh Cronin), Rebekah Staudacher, and Mallory (Cameron Fish); his great grandchildren: Braxtyn Crumm, KeeLeigh, Ezaraye, and Jaxsyn Myers, Gabe and Xander Clutter, Mariah an, Kaden Clevenger, Maxwell, Charolotte, and Keira Febus; step-great-grandchildren: Waylon and Mason Fish, Reese Davis, Miller Crepps, Liara Resler, Harold and Oliver Smith, and Penelope Nelson; and great-great-grandchild Haislie Clevenger.
