Earl Camden McLaughlin, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, with his children by his side. He was born on August 26, 1941, in Copen, West Virginia, where he was raised with strong values, deep roots, and a humble beginning. Earl graduated from Burnsville High School, Class of 1959, and soon after proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, beginning a life of dedication, service, and strength.

While stationed at NAS Whidbey, Earl met and married Linda O'neil, and together they built a life, raised a family, and created lasting memories in Anacortes. He worked briefly at the plywood mill before beginning a long career with the Texaco Refinery, where he was known for his reliability, humility, and work ethic. Even in retirement, his devotion to purpose led him back to the refinery, where he worked in security until nearly 80 years old.

Earl was a kind-hearted man who made everyone he met feel valued and seen. He was a loving and involved father, grandfather, brother, and husband, and he cherished his family and friends.  He left a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to know him.

Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Linda McLaughlin, his parents, Martin and Maggie McLaughlin, his brothers John and Dennis (Ted), his sister Mary and his grandson Taylor. He is survived by his son, Michael McLaughlin; his daughter and son-in-law, Niccole and James Rovang; his grandchildren, Tanner McLaughlin, Camden (wife, Taylor McLaughlin), and Jazmin (husband, Ray Calmer); and his sister, Wanda "Boots" Zolla. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored by his family and many friends.

A viewing to honor and celebrate Earl's life will be held on Sunday, November 16th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Evans Funeral Chapel and Onsite Crematory located in Anacortes, WA.. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
