Eduard August Moehl, age 78, passed away on September 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved family member, known for his unwavering faith and dedication to spreading the word of God as a Christian missionary. Eduard, also known as Ed, had a remarkable journey filled with accomplishments and life highlights.

Born in Shoenau, Germany, on February 23, 1945 to parents: William and Anne (Schroeder) Moehl.  It was a time of rationing, cultural adjustment and parents who loved him but were strict  as was the fashion in that era.  Following  his education, Ed began his career as a policeman in his homeland before migrating to the United States. On 11 August 1966, he joined the US Air Force as a Basic Airman, serving his country with honor and dedication. He was trained overseas in Taichung, Taiwan. Ed's commitment to his duties led to his honorable discharge on 10 August 1972, with the rank of Sergeant.

During his training, Ed experienced a profound spiritual transformation, embracing Christianity.  He was introduced to Dick Webster a missionary in Taichung, who was happy to mentor Ed in his faith discovery.  Dick had a daughter, Dorothy who was in high school and over time they were attracted to one another.  It was considered scandalous for a Military GI to be dating a teenage missionary daughter.  This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his life's purpose.  Ed waited until Dorothy completed College in Pasadena, CA.  On Valentine's Day in 1970, Ed married the love of his life, Dorothy Webster, and together they embarked on a journey of faith and service.

Seeking to deepen his knowledge of theology, Ed enrolled in Talbot School of Theology in Los Angeles, California. He completed his studies with a degree in Anthropology and later underwent advanced training in Theology, leading to his ordination in the German Lutheran Church.

With a strong desire to share their faith with others, Ed and Dorothy joined the TEAM mission, dedicating more than 40 years to church planting in Austria and Germany. Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment impacted countless lives, fostering the growth of faith communities in these regions. In recognition of their dedication, Ed and Dorothy were esteemed members of both TEAM and other OC missions.

In 2006, Ed and Dorothy settled in Anacortes, Washington, where they continued to serve as mentors to the young pastors they had left behind. They became active members of Christ The King church and led a Bible Study group in their home, nurturing spiritual growth within their community.

Beyond his missionary work, Ed cherished spending quality time with his family. He delighted in gathering loved ones together to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions, often hosting joyful BBQ gatherings. His warm and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eduard August Moehl leaves behind a legacy of faith, dedication, and love. His commitment to serving others and spreading the teachings of Christianity will continue to inspire generations to come.

He leaves behind, his devoted wife of five decades, Dorothy; their children: Jonathan (Jennifer), Darlene (Jonathan Vandershuur), Steven and Martin; 11 grandchildren and siblings Helene and Max.

A graveside service was held on September 23, 2023, at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, at CTK Anacortes Church, November 4, 2023. May he rest in peace, knowing that his impact on the world will never be forgotten.
