Elsie Seymour Wood, 85, of Anacortes, WA was called home to God on Thursday, April 8, 2021.  She was born on January 27, 1936 in Manila, Philippines; the daughter of Nathaniel and Anna (Owens) Warman.  She graduated from St. Anthony's School in Hawaii and went on to receive her Associate of Applied Science Degree from Shoreline Community College.

Elsie grew up around the world, quite literally: Manila to Hawaii, Puerto Rico to Corinthian Island, California, Atlanta, Georgia, Tallahassee, Florida and finally settling in Washington State, working for Boeing. She met and married Monty Lee Wood in December 1966.  They built a life in Bothell, WA.  Elsie owned her own business: Elsie's Day Care, so she could simultaneously be a full-time mother. She believed being a mother, was what she was put on earth for.  Not only did she raise four children of her own, but she also mothered hundreds of children over the years at her own preschool/daycare center.

She moved to Anacortes in 2007 with her husband, Monty after retiring from her business in Bothell, WA which she ran for 40 years.

She had a deep faith in Jesus and was a loyal and devout Catholic.  Her children graduated from Catholic Schools. Elsie's passions were music, art, her daughters, grandchildren and she was a fiercely loyal sister to her siblings.  Monty and she enjoyed trips on their boat, taking trips to even Alaska in the summer of 2000.  She was a natural born athlete till her final years when Parkinson's Disease challenged this pleasure.  Her dogs over the years were one of her greatest loves; Lukas her German Shephard shadowed and watched over her.  Though she had way more than her fair share of health challenges she never complained and was BRAVE beyond belief.

Elsie was predeceased by her parents and brothers: John Denny and Peter Owens Warman.  She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Monty; her daughters: Anna-Diana Wood and Aletha Marie Pinsoneault and stepchildren Darcy & Randy Lee Wood; grandchildren: Rico Suave, Gustave John, Olivia Grace, Isabella Rose & Josette Bleue Pinsoneault; and sister: Natalie Ann Warman.

Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie will be held 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church on Saturday April 17, 2021. Suggested donations in Elsie's name may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Anacortes, WA .
