Geoffrey
Mount
Jul 18, 1961 — Aug 5, 2024
Geoffrey (Jeff) Mount, 63, of Anacortes, WA passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2024, following a brief illness.
Born and raised in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania, Jeff was a graduate of Ohio State University. He and Trinka, his wife of 42 years, lived in the central Ohio area until 2015, when they moved to Anacortes. Jeff worked in warehouse management and inventory control.
Jeff was an avid cyclist and hiker who enjoyed the Anacortes Forest Lands, Artist Point, Lake 22 and many other areas of the Pacific Northwest. He regularly participated in charity bike rides throughout Washington and central Ohio. He especially sought out waterfalls and scenic viewpoints with his daughter. He climbed Mount Rainier in 2007.
A passionate sports fan and baseball statistics whiz. Jeff enjoyed rooting for his favorite teams with his daughters and son-in-law: the Cleveland Guardians and Cavaliers, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, the Seattle Sounders and Kraken, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed writing blogs about the Cleveland teams. He was always rooting on the sidelines of his daughters' field hockey games and marathons.
Jeff had a lifelong interest in current affairs and politics. Concerned with the welfare of his fellow citizens, Jeff worked on homelessness and hunger issues throughout Skagit County. He was a volunteer at the Anacortes Family Center, Community Action, the Helping Hands Food Bank, the Anacortes Library, and the Lincoln Theater. He was active in the Fidalgo Democrats organization and similar groups in Skagit County and central Ohio.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jeff is survived by his wife, daughters Katherine and Caroline, son-in-law Zackery and grandchildren Emersyn and Jackson. He is also survived by many cousins, in-laws, and nieces.
A private remembrance will be held later in central Ohio. Those wishing to commemorate Jeff's life may donate to the Anacortes Family Center, the Helping Hands Food Bank or a charity of their choice. To share memories of Jeff, please visit https://www.evanschapel.com/obituary/geoffrey-mount
