Gloria Jane Siechen, born on March 30, 1947, in Elmhurst, ILL, passed away on February 8, 2024, in Anacortes, WA, at the age of 76.

After growing up in Beaverton, OR, and graduating from Sunset High School, Gloria attended a secretarial school in Salem and then went to work as a staff member at Portland State University. Hired by the U.S. Government, she moved to Washington, D.C., and worked in the office of Vice President Agnew. After working with other government organizations, including the Army, she was hired by the Central Intelligence Agency as a Communications Specialist. Her career with the U.S. Government took her to various posts in the United States and around the world, including Vietnam, Italy, Oman, Kenya, and the Dominican Republic.

After retirement, Gloria moved to Vancouver, WA, to be near family and took a job with Freightliner Corp in Portland. Through friendship connections and meeting people of similar interests, Gloria found her forever home farther north in Anacortes, WA. Once settled, she worked at Ana-Cross Stitch and later for the Port of Anacortes until retiring.

Gloria had a very creative side and enjoyed various hand-work crafts such as beading, needlepoint, cross stitch, and knitting. She also had a love of books and was an avid reader. As a member of several local clubs and groups related to her interests, she developed lasting friendships that were very important to her.

Family held special meaning for Gloria. Throughout her life, she was a devoted Aunt to her four nephews and niece and their families. Gloria would often travel many hours to be involved with family events and holiday celebrations.

Gloria is survived by her brothers Ronald and Philip and their families. Her parents, Jane and Ralph, preceded her in death. A private service will be held for Gloria. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Needlepoint Guild (https://www.needlepoint.org).
