Grace Helen Malson, 79, of Anacortes, WA passed away in Mount Vernon at Ashley Gardens. She was born on November 13, 1941, the daughter of Parker and Edna (McNeil) Malson in St. Louis, Missouri.
Her early schooling was in Roxana, Illinois. The Malsons moved to Anacortes in 1955. Grace graduated from Anacortes High School in 1959. She was the choice of the Anacortes High School Faculty to be the Commencement Speaker at the graduation. Grace then went on to University of Washington to obtain her Bachelor's Degree and took to teaching High School Debate at Poulsbo before pursuing her post graduate course in Library and Information Science in San Jose, California. Grace began her new career as a Legal Librarian in San Francisco before landing her dream job at the Gallagher Law Library of the University of Washington in Seattle.
Her favorite pastimes included playing tennis, traveling to Europe, Russia and Israel. Grace was a devoted daughter to her parents and a loyal sister to her brother. She also spent many memorable times with her longtime friends in San Jose.
Grace is survived by her brother Jim, his wife Kaaren, extended family members and special friend, Martha Hutcheson of Rhode Island.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held for Grace at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes.
