Greg Crosby, 76, Anacortes, died February 20, 2023 of complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis, a progressive lung disease.

Greg was the oldest son of the late Mirl and Mary Crosby of Dothan AL.  He graduated from Dothan High School in 1964 and received BA and MA degrees from the University of Alabama.

He started working in journalism while in high school, continuing as a reporter and editor of several Alabama publications.  He was a campaign press secretary to Alabama Governor Albert Brewer and later worked as a Public Affairs Officer for the Internal Revenue Service in Birmingham and San Francisco.  He began a second career in Information Technology at Bank of America, starting as a technical writer and retiring as a SVP.   Upon moving to Anacortes, he started a third career at John L. Scott where he created enduring friendships with clients, their families and fellow realtors.

Greg is predeceased by his middle brother Glenn.  Survivors include his husband/partner of 36 years Bill Stedman (Anacortes), younger brother Steve, sister-in-law Brenda (both of Dothan AL), nephews Jeremy and Justin (North Carolina) and Aaron (Mobile).

He loved gardening, a good book of fiction, porch-sitting with friends and neighbors, long walks in Anacortes neighborhoods and drives through the beautiful Skagit Valley.  He especially looked forward to afternoon latte's with Bill and the regulars at Penquin Coffee.
