Harolyn "Lyn"
Ann Nutter
Aug 24, 1938 — Jan 21, 2022
Lyn Nutter (83) passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She was born in Wishek, ND and moved west when she was a child to Vancouver, WA when her father found work there. She moved to Portland, OR when she was pregnant with her first son. She met her husband who was coaching the hockey team her son played on. She developed a love for the game of hockey and always enjoyed a good game, whether it was amateur or professional. She and her husband had a second son and moved to Gresham, OR.
Lyn was born with a melody in her heart and had a lifelong love affair with music. Whether singing in the local church choir or playing percussion for the local community band, Lyn was passionate about making melodies. After her husband died, Lyn pursued her music interest by joining the "Miller High Life One More Time Around" band and performed during half time at football games as well as marching in various parades. Lyn loved the outdoors and nature and enjoyed camping trips with her family in the Mount Hood National Forest area. Lyn was a lifelong learner and enjoyed reading books, discovering new things, and always had an open mind.
Lyn was able to spend the last couple of years of her life on Whidbey Island, where her first born son lived, and got to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lyn is survived by her sons, Kris Becker and Karl Nutter; and three grandchildren, Grant, Travis, and Holly.
