Helen Bannon Jung, 91, of Anacortes, amazing mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and nurse, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and reunited with her husband on Sunday, August 14, 2022.  She was born on December 9, 1930 in Everett, the daughter of Joseph and Jean (Ennis) Bannon.  Helen graduated with the Class of '49 from Everett High School and obtained her Nursing degree from the General Hospital of Everett School of Nursing in 1953.  She continued learning throughout her nursing career.

Helen married the love of her life, Roy Jung of Hebron, ND in 1953.  They raised three daughters together, Patty, Peggy and Pam.  The Jungs moved to the beach in Clinton on Whidbey Island in 1975 and thereafter to Anacortes in 1994.

For many years, Helen enjoyed being in the water at Fidalgo Pool and made many lifelong friends.  She loved blueberries and vanilla ice cream, roses, Rosies and Rosé; actor, Robert Duval and singer, Eddie Arnold; Jazz and Blues and all music she played with her Ukulele band.  She enjoyed English Literature, body surfing in Hawaii and star gazing at the beach. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church of Anacortes.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 48 years, Roy. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Patty (Patrick Andrus), Peggy (John Jung-Simard) and Pam (Dave Knutsen); siblings: Dorothy (Joan, partner) and George (Roni) Bannon; five grandchildren: Maria, James (Carly Eyler) Andrus, Jacob (Alison) Andrus; Kevin (Renée), Eric (Jenna) Knutsen; and four great grandchildren: Jase Andrus, Reid, Rhett and Rosie Knutsen.

A Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes.  Memorials in her name may be made to: Fidalgo Pool & Fitness Center or to the United Methodist Church of Anacortes.
