Jack Edward Fancher was called "Home" to be with Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 18, 2024. He is now free from all suffering and surrounded by eternal love with the rest of his family; Jack was the last of the Fancher boys to fulfill this journey.

He was born in San Pedro, California to Jack Cleo Fancher and Sylvia Roberta Hawk on November 4, 1950.  He had three brothers who he was very close with: Jim Ray Fancher, Steven Jack Fancher, and Randy Ray Fancher. They moved to Anacortes, Washington when Jack was a young boy, where he lived the rest of his life.

Each of the brothers were avid sports players; Jack's favorites being football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling. He enjoyed coaching Little League with his brother Steve. Jack chose the San Francisco 49er's as his beloved football team, and never missed watching a game to cheer them on! On most days, you could spot him wearing his favorite 49er's shirt.

During his youth, he spent his time with his brothers and close friends who lived by him, going to the beaches in the surrounding area; sharing their goals and sitting by bonfires. He had great memories of those times ~ and remained lifetime friends with Brian Tweten, Mike Lunz, Sonny and Lema Hatten, John Godina and Suzie Perkins.

Jack started working at Whitney Fidalgo Cannery in Anacortes at a young age, where he worked his way up to being in charge of Quality Control. He started spending his summers working in Alaska and became close friends with Jim Weygandt. They worked together for many years, 12-14 hours per day. Marv Knight also became a very close friend, and each of them would tell you they were like brothers with Jack. Jack met Sherri Bullock when he was 28 years old, and they welcomed their daughter Jaclyn Rae Fancher on September 25th, 1981. Jaclyn looked like her Dad with her brown hair and blue eyes, and immediately became "Daddy's Little Girl".  She took after her Dad playing sports, and Jack could always be seen in the stands with a big smile on his face cheering her on at her games. They enjoyed Father ~ Daughter time playing miniature golf, racing go karts, drive-in movies, going for walks to the Shrimp Shack for ice cream cones and baking homemade peach pie together. Sherri and Jack remained close friends over the years and were fond of listening to Linda Ronstadt and rock-n-roll music while visiting. They were always present for Jaclyn's sporting events, award ceremonies and to watch her cheerleading at Anacortes High School. Holiday dinners and special events together always made Jaclyn feel loved.

Jaclyn blessed her Dad with three beautiful grandkids who all got their Grandpa Jack's bright blue eyes: Kaelyn June Hart, Brooklyn Grace Camilla Mavar, and Kamden Jack Vance Mavar. Jack loved spending time with them and was proud of their accomplishments. Jack's favorite things in life were his daughter, grandkids, dogs, 70s cars, the 49ers, cooking, going for walks and Rock-n-Roll.

Jack is survived by his only child Jaclyn Rae Fancher-Hart, her Mom Sherri Bullock (Galvez),  sister-in-law Sadie Fancher; nieces Ranatta Iverson, Tami Silk, Bobbi Adkison (Matt Adkison), and Samantha Walker. Great nieces and nephews Sybil (Christian) Fancher, Danika Frisbee, Jay and Daran Iverson, Noah and Bridget Silk, Lucas and Quinn Adkison, Riley and Mason Neuendorf, Tanner Slyuter, and Carter Fancher.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Elks in Anacortes on October 5th at 6pm. All who knew Jack Fancher are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
