Jack Burr Morelock was born May 16, 1929 in Oakesdale, WA to James Burr and Elizabeth (Turnley) Morelock.  Jack was three months old when his father died.  His mother taught school in Spokane and when Jack finished freshman year, Anne married Harvey Lester Caldwell and moved to Anacortes.  Jack enjoyed three years at AHS, playing in the major sports.

Entering WSC, he switched to swimming and joined Sigma Chi Fraternity.  After graduation in 1951, Jack was drafted into the Army, spending the second year stationed in Germany.

On return, a wedding was planned with a Seattle girl teaching middle school in Mukilteo, Janet Ruth Nollan, a Phi Beta Phi whom he met at WSC.  They soon had a boy, William "Bill" Burr Morelock, while residing in Everett. After serving as a Manager of Singer Sewing Shop, their next move was to Coats and Clark's Thread and Yarn in Salem, Oregon.  Their third home was in Pleasanton, California, San Francisco Bay area, where he completed 31 years of service to the company.

Upon retirement, Jack could return to Anacortes and the home his mother had built.  He was an avid golfer, helped organize class reunions, enjoyed Swinomish Casino and the six years he owned a boat were among the happiest of his life. Jack was a member of the Elks Club.

Jack is survived by his wife, Janet of Anacortes, WA, and his son, Bill of St. Paul, MN.
