Jeannine Marie Zurcher, 88, native of Anacortes, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.  She was born on November 1, 1932, the daughter of Louis and Clara LaPlace and was of French descent.  

  Jeannine graduated with the Class of 1951 from the Anacortes High School and married the love of her life, Lee Zurcher in 1953. Together they had three children: Theresa, Stephen and Louis. They made their home in Crescent City, California where they owned and operated the Crescent City Septic Service unti1 1977 when they returned to Anacortes.  She then worked for the City of Anacortes and operated a cleaning service with her daughter.  

  Jeannine enjoyed water skiing and flying airplanes.  She found joy in spending time with family, travelling, camping and telling stories.  Jeannine also enjoyed playing cribbage with her longtime companion, Kent LaRue.  

  Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Lee in 2001. She is survived by her children: Theresa Moore, Stephen (Susan) and Louis (Diane) Zurcher, all of Anacortes; grandchildren: Jaime Zaragoza, Steve (Lisa) Robinson, Joshua Wood, Justin (Lyndsee) Zurcher, Carla Zurcher, Amy (Brad Kulp) and Eric (Ariel) Zurcher as well as eight great grandchildren.  

  Jeannine will be greatly missed by family and many lifelong friends.
