Jerry Arthur Aronson went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2020.  He was born in Berlin Germany to Fritz and Mania Aronsohn (changed to Aronson upon entering America) on August 8, 1935.

He is survived by his wife Teresita, his sister Fran, his 4 children, Ruth, Jeff, Mark and Lisa, and 6 grandchildren, (by age) Gabriel, Gavin, Elijah, Caden, Kiya, and Monya.

Jerry lived in Lithuania with his mom and dad until the three of them fled to the U.S. in April 1939. All of his relatives that stayed in Europe were sent to concentration camps headed by the Nazis.

Jerry grew up in Chicago. He was raised in a Jewish home and had his bar-mitzvah at 13.  At 22 years old he took a job as a draftsman with Western Electric, which later became AT&T.

In 1959, he became the "Jesus Loves You" man we all knew and loved.  Here is a quote from his memoir:

"The most soul searching and life changing event in my life was asking my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
to come into my life and change my everlasting life
from spending eternity in Hell to spending eternity in Heaven with my Lord and Savior."

In 1960 he married Judy and together they raised 4 children. He worked with AT&T for 40 years living in Colorado, then Georgia and eventually retired and moved to Washington. In those years he mentored troubled youth, volunteered with "The Friend's of Israel" that ministered to Russian and Ukrainian Jews, ministered to a group of Vietnam veterans, helped with college students at "Talk Time" in improving their English and showing them the love of Christ, visited with church family shut-ins, spent time with people at Ashley Gardens assisted living home, and helped with the kids at AWANA for many years. These are just a few of the things you could find him doing in his "spare" time.  He loved people!

In 2011, Judy, his wife of 50 years passed away. In 2012 he married Teresita who was at his side all the way until his last day here on earth. He was blessed with 2 amazing and loving wives.

Jerry was a loyal and loving husband and father. He was passionate about Jesus and sharing his testimony.  He enjoyed helping others, learning about trains, researching his heritage, collecting items from WW11, listening to jazz, dancing, laughing and being goofy, and making new friends wherever possible.  He was known for that smile on his face and a point with his finger and the words "Jesus Loves You" to about every person he would come in contact with. What a blessed thing to be remembered for!
