Jerry Albert Pollard went to his home in heaven on August 2, 2023. He was born July 17, 1932, in Turlock, CA, and lived in the central valley of California until retiring to Anacortes, WA in 2003.

Jerry was raised on a dairy farm and later was part owner of the dairy farm with his father and brother. Following a life-changing accident in 1961, he returned to school and got his Bachelor of Science degree and Masters of Education degree. He taught high school agriculture in Modesto, CA for many years.

He later owned an almond ranch and did custom farming. Jerry was recognized for his work with students in 2003 when he received the highest honor the California Association of FFA bestows. He received the Honorary State FFA degree (Future Farmers of America)
In 1989 Jerry and his wife vacationed in the San Juan Islands with some friends and found a world very different from the agricultural community they lived in. In 2003 they retired and moved to Anacortes, WA where he resided until his recent death.

Jerry's second love was agriculture. His first was family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth, of almost 53 years. His three sons: Vern (Dawn), Ron (Donna) and Dale (Alice). There are also 4 grandchildren: Erik and Sean, Ryan and Annelise. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara. His two brothers, Jim and Bill, preceded him in death.
