Jonathan J McCabe, born 11/26/1947-7/9/26. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio. Moved to CA in 1957, raised and lived in Latrobe, CA till 2019 when his wife of 48yrs passed from a battle with cancer. He moved to Anacortes, WA to be with his daughter Jessica and grandson Hunter. He served in the Vietnam war as a firefighter and when he returned was a firefighter for Sacramento Metro Fire Dept for 30yrs retiring in 2002. He volunteered at the EL Dorado County Historical Museum in Placerville, CA for 25+yrs restoring and preserving photographs and artifacts. He enjoyed metal detecting, digging up old bottles and artifacts with friends, and being outdoors/camping. He was in the paper in 1993 in an article "Digging Up Latrobe" and also was in the TV series "Who Do You Think you are" in the episode with Sarah Jessica Parker in regard to her having relatives in Placerville during the Gold Mining Era. He was a father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, husband, and well-loved in the community. He will be greatly missed.
