Kaitlin (Kate) Santoro was carried by the Angels to her new life with Jesus on Monday evening, February 26, 2024, with the support of her husband, Michael, and two sons, Clark and Miles.  She was born on March 10, 1954, in New Castle, Indiana, to Emma and Jack Turner, who preceded her in death.

She was raised in New Castle, attended Ball State University, and later finished her Bachelor's degree at Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

She met her husband at Ball Memorial Hospital in 1979, and they were married in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Valentine's Day, 1981. Their young family lived in various locations in Michigan and Indiana.  When the boys went to college in California, Kate and Michael moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2007, first to the Seattle area and then to Anacortes in 2014.

Kaitlin was a kind and loving person who was particularly fond of children. She was an artist who also worked in libraries and as a substitute teacher.  Her perception of people's needs and her sense of color were uncanny, and she always knew the right gift or card to send to friends and relatives.  Her generosity and loving heart knew no bounds.

She had a strong affinity to the Angels and Saints, particularly Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and Saint Joseph, and was blessed to live in a home where the moon shown brightly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Laley and brother, John Turner and his wife, Susie.  She is survived by her husband, Michael, of Anacortes, and sons Clark, of Long Beach, California and Miles of Culver City, California, her sister, Julie York (David) and brothers Jim (Barb) and Tony, all of New Castle.
