Keli-Ann
Diven
Oct 3, 1959 — Oct 11, 2024
Darringto
Keli-Ann Diven passed peacefully in her sleep on October 11, 2024 in her home in Darrington, WA. at the age of 65.
Keli-Ann was born on October 3, 1959 in Seattle, WA to Charles John Diven and Patricia Aimee Howard Diven. She was welcomed home by her 2 siblings, Michael and Shannon Diven.
At the age of one year, Keli-Ann moved with her family to Vancouver, BC, Canada. They lived in the suburbs of North Vancouver for many years. Her love of horses, books, music and fine food was apparent from an early age. Many happy summers were spent in Kennewick, WA visiting cousins, riding horses and reading comic books.
Keli-Ann moved with her family to Arlington, WA in 1973. She made many life-long friends and always had a horse and/or a dog to love.
Keli-Ann was always open to adventure. Her work life led her to Alaska canneries and fishing boats, a Maui bakery, Washington ski resorts, restaurants and wooden sail boats and seafood markets.
On April 4, 1986 Keli gave birth to her son, Justin J. Michael Sims. They settled in Arlington, WA where Keli-Ann met her life partner Steve Houser. Together they raised Justin.
Keli-Ann and Steve moved to their home in Darrington, WA in 2011. Keli loved her home with Steve. She was always surrounded by her horses, dogs, cats and nature.
In 2012, Keli-Ann welcomed the birth of her beautiful granddaughter and joy of her life, Gabrielle Patricia Sims. Keli adored Gabby and her mom, Nicole Gray.
Keli was intelligent with a wild imagination, a sparkling wit and a charming personality that shone out of her big blue eyes. She collected people and animals everywhere she went. Her heart was huge and welcoming. She was always reaching out her hand to the underdog, whether it was a dog kicked to the curb or an elderly person needing a seat on the bus.
Keli-Ann is preceded in death by her parents: Chuck Diven and Patricia Howard Diven.
Keli-Ann is survived by her life partner Steve; son, Justin; grand-daughter, Gabby and her mom, Nicole; siblings, Mike and Shannon (Tom); nieces, Savanah and Molly, nephew, Luka; cousins, Susie, Brenna (Ike), Pam (Neil), Toni (Larry), Wendy, Donna and Doug and many friends.

"If you would indeed behold the spirit of death,
open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
