Kevin Scott
James
Aug 2, 1965 — Jan 14, 2022
Orondo
Kevin Scott James, a resident of Des Moines and Orondo Washington was born to Franklin James and DeEtte (James) Bryant on August 2, 1965, in Portland, Oregon. He departed this life on January 14, 2022.
Kevin loved life! He worked hard and he played harder. He was proud to be a part of such an extraordinary company Alaska Airlines for 34 years. It afforded him a lifestyle most of us dream about and he made sure included all of us in this wonderful life. He loved adventure and traveled with friends and family and the goal always was to have fun, laughter and create lasting memories.
Kevin was one of a kind. His friends and family were so important to him and he made us feel important and special. He was good at helping with anything you needed. We figured that's why he was always shirtless. He would give the shirt off his back!
Kevin could brighten your day with a phone call, text or just a single picture of a beautiful sunset from his porch or wherever he was in the world. His presence shined brightly in all of our lives. He lived life to the fullest and wanted to include as many people as he could. He made his world and ours a beautiful, fun place. His most recent love was his cabin in Orondo. He would go there almost every weekend working to make it his sanctuary at the top of the mountain so he could live off grid with his husband Kevin (K2 as in Kevin too). He spent a few years gathering useful vehicles. He loved his toys like his water truck, the Defender, Hummer, trailers, motorcycles, boats, sleds and snowmobiles. Inviting friends and family to come share in the experience and raise a toast to life with a Crown Royal and coke zero.
He will be extremely missed. Kevin shared his life well lived with a smile for everyone, a quack, quack for kids and a kindness that spread world wide. Fly high with the birds you lovely human!
Kevin leaves to cherish his 56 years of memories to his mother, DeEtte (James) Bryant; his spouse, Kevin Kirschbaum; two children, Josh Blunk and Celinde Cline; four siblings, Pegge James, Brenda (James) Thacker, Pamela (James) Alvarado and Brian James; and three grandchildren, Xavier, Ricky and Seven.
