Kris Dale Portis, 63, unexpectedly passed away on October 25, 2021, at his residence in Anacortes. He was born on August 29, 1958, in Kirchheim unter Teck a town in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.

Kris lived most of his life in Anacortes. He was known for his fun loving adventurous spirt as well as being a caring and giving person. Kris balanced his life with work and recreation that suited his passions in life. For instance, he was a volunteer Manager and Coach in numerous sports, including his son's baseball team. Kris was on the Board of Directors for the Anacortes Little League. He even volunteered as a counselor for a year for the Kids' Camp at Quaker Cove. He was always there to help anyone in need. As an avid sports fan, he would often take his son to baseball games.

On the adventurous side, he was a commercial fisherman, loved boats and enjoyed travelling with his son. One of their favorite trips was visiting Kris' birthplace in Germany. His other favorite pastime was riding a motorcycle and he kept up this hobby by being a member of the local motorcycle club.

Kris leaves behind his parents Marvin & Jeanette (Arbuckle) Portis; brother, Ken; and son, Benjamin. He will be dearly missed. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
