Larry C. Carr, Sr., 73, a native of Anacortes passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Island Hospital.  He was born on July 15, 1947; the son of the late Vernon and Verlis (Glasoe) Carr.  He was a graduate of the AHS Class of 1965 and shortly after enlisted in US Army and served his country in the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged on November 7, 1972, receiving the following: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Purple Heart.

In his civilian life, he worked  as a longshoreman at the Refinery in Anacortes, when it was operated by Texaco and throughout the change of ownerships that took place over the years, finally retiring in 2008.  Larry's favorite pastimes included hanging out at the Rosario Store, his favorite store, fishing, crabbing, playing bingo at the casino, and watching baseball games.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and brother Chuck.  He is survived by his son Larry C Carr, Jr., (Prudence) of Sedro Woolley; his grandchildren: Fiona Frein of Wyoming & Melissa Frein of Anacortes and his sister Donna Carr Wright of Seattle, WA.  Private family services will be held for Larry.
