Linda (Niess) Davis, 83, of Burlington, WA, died on November 18, 2023.

Born on October 9, 1940, in Allentown, PA, to George and Ella (De Leidi) Niess, she grew up in Emmaus, PA. An avid Girl Scout for many years, Linda attended the first national Senior Girl Scout Roundup in Milford, MI, in 1956. Her family owned a rustic cabin on Lake Minisink in the Pocono Mountains, where they enjoyed spending time together. Linda graduated from Emmaus High School in 1958 and attended Penn State University, graduating in 1962 with a degree in Recreation Education.

Linda moved to Newark, DE, in 1963 to take a Recreation Supervisor position with the Greater Newark Recreation Association. She left the workforce to raise her children but returned later to work for the University of Delaware's Office of Computer-Based Instruction before serving as the Activities Director at a local retirement/nursing home. After earning her director's certification, she managed several retirement/nursing homes in the northern Delaware area. Linda finished her working career as a real estate agent.

In 2010, Linda moved across the country and settled in Oak Harbor, WA, to be closer to her grandchildren. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Anacortes, WA. Linda loved the many cats and dogs she had over the years. She both played and taught bridge. She loved reading, the beach, swimming, camping, outdoor activities, and all things Penn State, especially football. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and wrapper of presents.

Linda is survived by her son Thomas G. Davis of Austin, TX, daughter Stephanie (Chris) Hankey of Anacortes, WA, grandson Eli J. Hankey (Anacortes), and granddaughter Rachel J. Hankey (Anacortes).

A Memorial Service celebrating Linda's life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Anacortes, on Sunday, November 26th, at 4 pm.
