Linda B. Hunt passed away at home in Anacortes, WA on December 3, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was thankful for the compassionate care she received from the incredible staff at Merle Cancer Care Center during her extended illness, and for the assistance of the many gifted Visiting Angels who eased her final weeks.

Linda was born October 21, 1943 in Livermore, California. Her family moved to the San Jose Foothills where she grew up largely out of doors in the company of beloved dogs and horses. When not tending to her favorite four-footed friends, she would indulge in books, kicking off a lifelong love of literature. She attended both UC Davis and San Jose State University before marrying her childhood sweetheart, John Hunt, on July 12, 1963, and beginning the family that was the focus of her life.

Linda deftly managed a peripatetic household during John's early career in construction, moving three children and assorted pets around the western United States 24 times in twelve years. Regardless of circumstance or location, her home was always a welcoming place for family and friends. After the family eventually settled down in Kirkland, Washington, Linda followed her calling to serve children and education in her community and beyond. She held multiple posts at local and state level PTAs, ultimately serving a term as President of the Lake Washington School District Board. Linda will be remembered by countless young people as a mentor, safe harbor, second mom and staunch advocate of their ability to realize the full potential of their gifts and talents.

Linda later worked in the family business, managing the office and accounts for Hunt, Coburn & Associates for over a decade. After moving to Anacortes in 1999, she and John became tireless supporters of the Skagit Land Trust. They enjoyed many years of family sailing trips in the San Juans, visits with their grandchildren in Arizona, and travels across the United States and beyond.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John; daughter Marcia in Anacortes; son Jim, daughter-in-law Christina and grandchildren Persephone and Craig in Tucson, Arizona; and brother James and his family in Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marjorie, and son Craig.
