Lois Marie
Sobek
Nov 18, 1946 — Oct 29, 2018
ANACORTES
Lois Marie (Duncan) Sobek of Anacortes, Washington passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 29, 2018. Lois was the only child of Willard and Dora Duncan, who knew that Lois was their special gift from the Lord. Lois grew up in Diablo, Washington in a loving and Christian home. Her childhood was very happy and the memories of her time in Diablo brought her great joy. Lois remained close with her parents until their passing. The love shared for one another in this small family can be seen in the hearts of those she loves today, and it is very clear that the Lord has always had her in the palm of His hand.
In 1966, Lois married Douglas Sobek, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage and have always been each other's best friends. Together, they had many wonderful adventures and they built their life as one on a foundation of love and faith. The birth of their daughter Deanna brought them great joy. Lois was a loving and devoted Mother who delighted in her daughter. She also had a special love for her son-in-law Mitch and her two granddaughters Lauren and Christina, who will always be her precious and unending treasure.
Lois enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed gardening, creating and cooking family meals and walks on the beach to look for sand dollars. Lois was blessed to know the companionship of her Scottie dogs and had a special love for all animals. She spent countless hours being with her two granddaughters. This trio had many fun times together and shared a lot of laughter. Lois was very proud of her granddaughters and they gave her great joy. Lois loved to travel and had many wonderful trips and vacations with her husband. Her life was enriched with special friendships and spending time with her daughter and son-in-law was always a priority.
Lois lived each day of her life with a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was always generous, freely gave of herself in service to others and was the constant and quiet strength behind her family. Lois was fiercely loyal, always patient, and had a love for her family that knew no limits. Lois will forever be loved by her family, who are looking forward to the day when they are reunited with her once again. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her son Duncan Allen Sobek.
