Mabel Lian, 98, after a long and full life, passed away on October 20, 2026. Born on July 23, 1928, in Calgary, Alberta, to Robert and Maude Graham, Mabel was the second of five children.

Mabel taught school for 11 years before she married Tom Lian in 1958 and moved to Anacortes. Mabel and Tom raised four daughters and Mabel helped Tom in his businesses: Citizen's Pharmacy and then Thrifty Mart Drug.

Mabel had a deep faith in the simple teachings of Jesus. She valued her part in a worldwide Christian fellowship and hosted Sunday morning fellowship meetings in her home.

Mabel was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Tom Lian, and her siblings Mildred Price, Iris Davison and Gordon Graham. She is survived by her sister Dorothy (Dave Rowlett), her four children: Marianne (Lorne Mann), Cheryl (Mike Sutcliffe), Susan Lian, and Bonnie (Steve Sherling). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Laura, Joel Mann, Chelsea, Brooke Sutcliffe, Brielle and Dillon Sherling.
