Marsha Jean Zott passed away unexpectedly in her home on December 8, 2024. She was born on March 21, 1955 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Marsha was married to the love of her life and best friend Jerry Zott on October 26, 1985. They were married for a wonderful 31 years. They had shared love for Jimmy Buffett and Baker Lake. It wasn't uncommon for them to make the drive there and enjoy the beauty of Washington. They would often be found at Washington State Park or the Anacortes Marina.

They also shared a love for bowling. They were quite the team in their Thursday night league they ran together. She would often reminisce of their life, sharing stories and keep Jerry's memory alive after his passing in 2016. Marsha was proud to be his wife. Her passion in life was the sport of bowling. She ran the Thursday night league for as long as anyone can remember. She made a countless number of friends and life-long connections.

Her favorite league was the Saturday morning youth league. She loved coaching the youth to become better bowlers. She would travel all around the state for 'her kids' to compete. She devoted countless hours to both of these leagues. Every year she would have an amazing banquet for both leagues. In the youth, everyone would receive some form of an award. She never wanted any child to feel excluded and would make sure that no one was. For the adults, let's just say the banquets always went on a little longer than what she had scheduled for.

Marsha's biggest joy in life was her family. She has three children, 13 grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader. When her first grandchild was born, she claimed that she was 'too young' to be called Grandma, so she proclaimed herself as 'Grammie'.

She and Jerry would host 'Grammie and Papa sleepovers' at their house at least once per month. They would take every grandchild that wanted to come for the whole weekend. They would always have something planned. There were movies, popcorn, an abundance of candy and ice cream. Every sleepover wouldn't be complete without Grammie's chocolate chip pancakes in the morning. There's a story where they may or may not have lost a grandchild at the zoo. She always claimed that this did not happen… even with two or three witnesses claiming otherwise.

Marsha loved being as involved as she could be with her grandchildrens' lives. She would attend every school concert, sport event, graduation, award ceremony she could. To Marsha, there was nothing more important to her than family.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life/best friend, Jerry Zott and her father, Chuck Rogers. She is survived by her mother: Ida 'Jean' Rogers of Anacortes, WA, siblings: Scott Rogers of Palmdale, CA , Lori Rogers of Anacortes, WA, her 3 children: Carrie Balser of Bow, WA, Kimberly (Bubba Ford) of Sallisaw, OK, and Ryan (Andra) Balser of Anacortes, WA, Grandchildren: Katelyn, Benny, Dylan, Aspyn, Sarah, Felicia, Abigail, Rylee, Ryan Jr., Hailey, Angelica, Alyvia, Antonio, and three great-grandchildren.
