Mary Crystal
Mcdaniels
Apr 19, 1989 — Oct 28, 2024
Renton
Mary Crystal (Haeck) McDaniels was born to Gary and Elizabeth Haeck on April 19, 1989, in Longview, WA. Mary was an amazing daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, mother, wife, and friend. She embraced each of these titles, cherishing them deeply. Mary was a phenomenal wife to her best friend and true love, her husband Ryan, and the best mom to her girls, Myla and Ellie. She loved and adored her daughters, and was wholly devoted to raising them in a Christ-centered family.
Mary's pastimes included spending time with Jesus, reading her Bible, praying, shopping, and traveling with family and friends. If you ever needed to know what to buy, Mary was the one to ask. Her insights and opinions carried much weight. Mary loved listening to online sermons and growing deeper in her faith. She was a planner who made any event perfect. She was a strong tower for her family to lean on. Mary was always up for an adventure and wanted to travel and be with family or friends whenever she could. She lived her life to the fullest.
Through her infectious laugh, fierce loyalty, and instinctual kindness, Mary made those around her feel seen and heard. Family and friends waited for a miracle, while she bravely fought a 5-year battle with breast cancer. God brought Mary home in the early hours of Monday, October 28, with her husband and mother by her side. Perhaps, all along, Mary was the miracle. Those who had the honor and privilege of knowing, loving, and being loved by her would agree.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Gary Haeck, who passed in August 2023; her uncles Doug and Les; her cousin Henry; her grandfathers Joe Goodman and George Brown; and her grandmother Marguerite Miller. She is survived by her husband Ryan McDaniels and her two daughters, Myla and Ellie, who were her greatest gifts; her mother, Elizabeth Haeck; her grandmother and namesake, Mary Goodman; her siblings: Tylor (Breann), Tristen (Sarah), Angela (Max), Gary Jr. (Barbie), and Aaron; her nieces and nephews: Garrett, Paige, Alison, Kinzlee, Nolan, Mack, Jack and Chloe; and her aunt Theresa (Tony) DenHartog and uncle Jesse (Crystal) Brown.
Mary's absence has left a hole in our hearts that we will never be able to fill. We hold on to the truth that she is with Jesus and that we will see her again in heaven.
Ephesians 1:11—"Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan."
Jeremiah 29:11—"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
