Maude passed away on Valentine's Day holding the hand of her life partner of 35 years. Her passing on that day was a true expression of the love they shared throughout their adult lives.

Maude was born on January 20, 1951, in Ironwood, Michigan to Marvel Morris and William Grawey. She and her large family moved to Rockford, Illinois where she graduated from West High School in 1969. Soon after, Maude relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where she befriended many people while involved in the real estate business.

In the late 1980's, Maude moved to the Northwest and became a resident of Issaquah, Washinton where she followed her passion to teach yoga. She earned her teaching credentials from Bikram Yoga Studios in Beverly Hills and brought the hatha yoga experience to her local communities under her business called "Yoga for Life". Maude's yoga sessions were very popular as she was an excellent instructor with a charming personality and exemplary fitness. She held yoga classes in Issaquah, Kirkland, Bellevue and Mercer Island. It was hard to walk down the street without someone from the community approaching her with words of gratitude.

Besides yoga instruction, Maude loved the outdoors and spent many days hiking up Squak Mountain, and spending time on Cypress Island in the San Juans. She had a passion for flowers and the hummingbirds they attracted. When Maude turned 50, she achieved her goal of obtaining her pilots license for small planes so she could visit family in nearby localities.

Maude liked to travel with her partner, Bruce Kreider, especially to Hawaii during the winter months. She also vacationed in Bali, Tunisia, Europe, Mexico, Canada and throughout the West Coast.

Maude's calm demeanor, beautiful smile and joyful outlook on life attracted many friends, especially her neighbors and extended family of the Kreider's who recognized her as a loving sister, stepmom and "Grandmaude". She was loved and very loving in return.

In 2017 Maude was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia, a form of dementia that steals your voice, comprehension and ability to communicate. It necessitated the end of her yoga teaching in 2022 and eventually required her move to The Vineyard Park of Mercer Island memory care in October of 2024. Despite her verbal handicap, she was a beacon of light to the caregivers and residents because of her youthfulness and endearing smile. We are forever grateful for the kindness of care that she received there.

Maude is survived by four siblings of the Grawey family (Bonnie, Kathy Thorson, Morris (Donna) and Gilbert), and her son, Peter Pauletto. She will be held dearly in the hearts of the Kreider family (Bruce, Phyllis Wurscher (Merlyn), Pattiann, Jeanne (Carl), Lynn Koch (Chris), Anne Kreider-Hughes (Patrice and Simone), and Dave (Liz and Jasper).
