Nona Engberg, 90, of Anacortes, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021 in Anacortes.  She was born Nona Faye Rombach on August 21, 1931, in Warrod, MN, the fifth and last child of William and Nettie (Rutherford) Rombach.  Upon graduation from Warrod High School in 1949, she struck west that same year following her brothers and moved to Anacortes.  Nona and Ron Tweten were married in 1952, and had sons, Brian in 1954 and David in 1956.  She remarried John Engberg and later joined life partner, John Morris.

Nona was a hard worker her entire life, formed as a child growing up on the family farm.  She was an adept bookkeeper, from early Anacortes businesses to Frontier Ford and Horizon Audio and Video.  Nona was a lifetime artist, poet, storyteller, nature lover and keeper of the family lore.  She particularly loved birds and cats.

Nona is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister, spouses, life partner, and one son, David Tweten.  She is survived by her son, Brian Tweten and spouse Pamela; grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, and Bobbie Jo; numerous close nieces and nephews across  the United States, close friends and neighbors.

At her request, there will be no services.  Memorials in Nona's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
