Patricia Ann "Patty" Yount, age 83 years, went to be with our Lord on June 1, 2021, after an exemplary life of faith. Patty was born June 15, 1937 in Elmer, Missouri, to Paul Wimer and Frances Pauline (Davis) Ralston. Patty was a "farm girl" to the core, growing up on the family farm in Elmer and with a love of all things Missouri. She was a graduate of La Plata (Missouri) High School class of 1955, and attended Kirksville University the following Fall. Patty came to know Jesus through her Great Grandmother Davis, and was a vocalist and song leader at the Elmer Christian Church.  It was at the Elmer Christian Church where she met her future husband, Warner David "Dave" Yount, who was serving in the United States Navy at the time.  Dave and Patty were married on March 11, 1956 at the Elmer church, with Dave's father and minister of the church, Carl Franklin Yount, presiding.

After their wedding, Patty and Dave began their married life on the idyllic island of Oahu, Hawaii, where Dave was stationed with the US Navy.  Patty loved everything about Hawaii life. On Oahu they would welcome their first child, Warner David "Dave" Yount, Jr. in 1957.  From Hawaii Dave Sr.'s Navy career would take them to Virginia, Cuba, Tennessee, Missouri, California and Washington.  Dave and Patty's family grew to include Robert Daniel "Dan" in 1959, Rebekah Ann "Becky" in 1962, and John Paul in 1967.  The family settled in Anacortes in the mid-1960's while Dave Sr. continued his service with the US Navy until he retired in 1974. Afterward, Dave and Patty have continued living in Anacortes until her passing. While Patty's love of Missouri continued all of her life, she embraced the ocean and her adopted home of the Pacific Northwest and Anacortes. Patty was an active member of the Anacortes Christian Church, serving as VBS Director, deaconess, teacher, soloist and choir member, as well as secretary for several years in the late 1990's.  She also volunteered with the local Crisis Pregnancy Center as that ministry was very close to her heart.   Additionally, she was employed over the years with the Anacortes School District, Sarah Lingwood Kitchen's, a dental office, and Island Hospital.

Patty would tell you she was first a Christian, then a wife, mother and grandmother to her precious family. These were her greatest accomplishments and the treasure of her heart. Patty's knowledge of and love for gardening (a Master Gardner) was her passion and connection to the creation around her.   Along with her faith and love of family, she has left us all a legacy of appreciation and wonderment for the Creator and His world.  Every time we see any flower, or even a "weed", we hear her voice gently telling us that God is speaking through every living thing.

Patty is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Dave Yount, Sr., as well as children Dave Yount Jr., Dan Yount, Becky Burch (all of Anacortes), John Yount, of Mt. Vernon, and their spouses. She is also survived by a sister, Mildred "Mille" Irene Keim of Missouri,  9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Patty was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Anthony David Yount.

Our hearts are full of love for you Mom/Patty.   We all look forward with absolute hope to the Great Day when we will see you again, across the river waiting for us with Jesus in the New Jerusalem.
